Hedwig and the Angry Inch 🎤⚡️💄

In August 2024, Give 5 Productions brought a bold, immersive staging of Hedwig and the Angry Inch to Denver — and what a ride it was. Originally set for Herman’s Hideaway, the show made a last-minute move to The Arch in RiNo… and honestly, it leveled everything up 🚀✨

Clark Destin Jones delivered an absolute powerhouse performance as Hedwig 🔥, with Yitzhak brought to life by Emma Rebecca Maxfield and Anne Terze-Schwarz — each adding their own emotional depth and edge 💔🎶

Behind the scenes, director/choreographer Kelly Van Oosbree and producer Julia Tobey led the charge, grounding the production in raw emotion, authenticity, and serious artistic fire 🎭💥

But this wasn’t just a show… it was a full experience.

Each night kicked off with a high-energy variety pre-show curated by drag artist Jessica L’Whor 💋 — featuring drag, circus, and burlesque performers 🎪✨ plus an iconic ‘80s glam rock costume contest with East Berlin vibes 🖤🎸

This wasn’t just extra flair — it created a space for celebration, connection, and unapologetic queer joy 🌈💫

The production earned major love locally, with 5280 Magazine calling it
“a glam-rock inspired party… a celebration of the queer community and allies… and incredibly high-quality local musical theater.” 🎉

And the audience felt it.

Night after night, people left moved — some in tears, many feeling truly seen 💖 Especially queer, trans, and non-binary attendees who connected deeply with the story in a way that stuck with them long after the final note 🎶

One parent even shared that their newly 18-year-old trans, nonbinary teen won the costume contest — calling the experience “transformative” and saying their child was “full of joy and wonder” ✨🫶

Because of its emotional impact and critical success, Give 5 brought Hedwig back for a limited run in November 2025 at Ballyhoo Table & Stage in LoHi 🍸🎭

Running November 6–23, the remount kept the magic alive — with Clark Destin Jones returning as Hedwig, Jessica L’Whor back hosting the pre-show, and the same electric mix of live rock, storytelling, and community energy ⚡️🎤

Doors opened nightly with the pre-show kicking off an hour before Hedwig hit the stage — so the party started early and never let up 🔥

At its core, this production wasn’t just theater.

It was a celebration of identity, a space for catharsis, and a reminder of the power of being seen 🌈💥

From immersive moments to unforgettable performances, Hedwig Denver stood out as a deeply personal, unapologetically queer experience about love, longing, and self-acceptance 💖✨
